5 Korean Reality Shows On Netflix

Netflix's K-content keeps getting bigger and better with the best korean reality shows out there. The TV line up is crazy or should I say Krazy because it will make you click "Next Episode" at 3AM.

The best part? While you're binging all the drama and chaos, you're actually picking up real Korean conversations - the kind of everyday phrases and slang that textbooks NEVER teach you.

Six contestants, famous Korean celebrities work together to solve mysteries and themed missions as secret agents.

It depicts the story of an investigation team dedicated to special cases that cannot be solved by regular departments, tracking down cases at sites where strange things have happened. The six members of this special team are: Lee Hye Ri, Lee Yong Jin, John Park, Kim Do Hoon, Lee Eun Ji and Karina of AESPA.

2. ZOMBIEVERSE

This show is one of the top ones on my list, its really funny and very different from other Korean variety shows that are out there. Although some parts of this show are scripted, so far it has 2 seasons, the recent one being released in 2024.

It talks about a group of unwitting contestants and together they must escape the city and outrun the zombies, or risk becoming zombies themselves.

3. The Devil's Plan

The Devil's Plan is not your typical reality show where one has to challenge their physical strengths - this show purely is about the psychological warfares. The contestants face off in seriously complex mental games where they need to outsmart each other by thinking outside the box.

This show is all about negotiations, casual strategy talks and those tense moments when alliances crack. The second season of this show will be releasing this year.

4. Physical: 100

Physical: 100 is a brutal tournament where Olympic medalists might face off against bodybuilders, soldiers could battle YouTubers, and professional wrestlers. Each challenge is about raw physical ability, forcing these athletes to adapt or get eliminated.

The mix of competitors means you get to hear how different groups talk shop - from military veterans' direct commands to athletes' technical sports terms. Plus, when these contestants hit their physical limits, the raw emotions bring out the kind of authentic Korean expressions you won't find anywhere else.

5. Single's Inferno

Singles Inferno splits time between two worlds - "Inferno," a basic island camp where contestants rough it out together, and "Paradise," a luxurious hotel that only lucky couples get to visit. The catch? You can only escape the island's basic lifestyle and hit up Paradise if someone picks you as their date.

You'll catch all the subtle ways Koreans show interest - from those shy glances to smooth compliments - plus learn how they use different speaking styles when they're trying to impress someone versus hanging out casually with the group.

6. Super Rich in Korea

Explore the extravagant lives of Korea's super-rich, their lavish spending on designer items, and the hollowness of their displays of wealth. Follow the stories of individuals like David Yong and Aren Yoo, reflecting on the consequences of flaunting wealth and the importance of discretion.
